Welcome to Waypoint AI! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to start using Waypoint and take control of your productivity.

What is Waypoint AI?

Waypoint AI is a smart task management app that combines the power of artificial intelligence with intuitive task organization. Whether you’re managing personal todos, work projects, habits, meetings, or collaborating with others, Waypoint helps you stay focused on what matters most.

Creating Your Account

Getting started with Waypoint is simple:

  1. Download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), or visit our web app
  2. Sign up with your email address and create a secure password
  3. Complete onboarding to customize your experience

Once you’re logged in, you’ll be greeted by the main dashboard where all your tasks live.

Your First Task

Creating your first task is as easy as typing:

  1. Tap the input bar at the bottom of the screen
  2. Type your task (e.g., “Review quarterly report”)
  3. Press the plus button to directly add a task OR
  4. If you want to send your message to the assistant press Enter or tap the send button

That’s it! Your task is now in your list.

Quick Tip: Use Voice Input

Don’t want to type? Tap the microphone icon and speak to the assistant about what you want to do. Waypoint’s AI will create the task for you or even create an entire project with subtasks, if that’s what you want.

Understanding the Dashboard

Your dashboard can be organized to help you focus:

  • Organization - You can nest items underneath other items to create your own buckets, however many or few you desire. To do this simply click on the item and choose a Parent in the edit screen.
  • Overdue - Tasks past their due date can be viewed easily by pressing the red warning symbol at the top. (don’t worry, we won’t judge)
  • Today’s Tasks - Items due today can be seen easily by pressing the orange calendar icon at the top.
  • No Date - Items with no due date can be seen by pressing the blue calendar icon at the top.
  • Filters - There multiple other ways to filter tasks too. You can see them all by pressing the filter icon at the top.

Your Most Important Task

Waypoint features a unique Most Important Task system. Your highest-priority task is highlighted so you always know what deserves your attention first.

To set a task as your MIT:

  1. Open the task by tapping on it
  2. Set the priority to 1 (highest)
  3. This task will now be prominently displayed as your most important task

Basic Task Actions

Here’s what you can do with any task:

Start TimerSwipe right and choose Start Timer (default time is in settings)
Break downAny item that is large can be broken down to smaller tasks and nested underneath. The Waypoint Assistant will automatically create smaller tasks for you when you choose this option

Talk to the AI Assistant

One of Waypoint’s most powerful features is the AI assistant. You can:

  • Ask it to create tasks using natural language
  • Request help breaking down complex projects
  • Get suggestions for how long tasks might take
  • As it to mark tasks as complete or even delete them

Try typing something like:

“I need to prepare for my presentation next week”

The AI will help you break this down into actionable steps.

Offline Support

Waypoint works offline on mobile devices. Any changes you make while disconnected will automatically sync when you’re back online. While disconnected the AI assistant features will be disabled.
