Account & Data Deletion

Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data from Waypoint AI.

Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently deleted from our systems.

1. What Gets Deleted

When you request account deletion, we will permanently delete the following data:

  • Account Information: Your email address, password hash, and profile information
  • All Tasks and Projects: Every task, project, goal, and habit you've created, including their descriptions, due dates, and hierarchies
  • Settings and Preferences: Your context preferences, notification settings, and theme choices
  • Chat History: All conversations with the AI assistant (note: these are already auto-deleted after 2 hours)
  • Subscription Information: Your subscription status and payment history (payment details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers)
  • Usage Data: All logs and analytics data associated with your account

2. Data Deletion Timeline

We process deletion requests according to the following timeline:

  1. Request Received: We receive and verify your deletion request via email
  2. Identity Verification (1-2 business days): We verify your identity to ensure the request is legitimate and protect against unauthorized deletion
  3. Deletion Processing (3-5 business days): Your account and all associated data are permanently deleted from our production databases
  4. Backup Removal (30 days): Your data is removed from backup systems within 30 days of the deletion request
  5. Confirmation: You receive an email confirmation once the deletion is complete

3. Data We Cannot Delete

Due to legal and operational requirements, some limited data may be retained:

  • Legal Compliance: Data required for tax, accounting, or legal compliance purposes (typically transaction records) for the period required by law
  • Fraud Prevention: Minimal records (such as email address hashes) to prevent account recreation for fraudulent purposes
  • Aggregated Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot be linked back to you

This retained data is kept to the absolute minimum required and does not include your tasks, projects, or personal content.

4. Before You Delete

Before submitting a deletion request, please consider:

  • Export Your Data: You can request a copy of your data before deletion by contacting gamesmith.innovations@gmail.com
  • Cancel Subscriptions: Make sure to cancel any active subscriptions to avoid future charges
  • Alternative: Account Deactivation: If you're unsure, you can simply stop using the app. Your data will remain private and secure
  • No Undo: Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. This action is permanent

5. How to Request Deletion

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended):

You can now delete your account directly from the Waypoint AI mobile app:

  1. Open the Waypoint AI app
  2. Go to Settings (tap the menu icon in the top right)
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm you understand this action is permanent
  5. Your account will be immediately deleted

Method 2: Email Request:

Alternatively, send an email to gamesmith.innovations@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request"

Include the following information:

  • The email address associated with your Waypoint AI account
  • Confirmation that you understand this action is permanent
  • Optional: Reason for deletion (helps us improve our service)

6. In-App Deletion Now Available

Feature Available: You can now delete your account directly from the app! Go to Settings in the Waypoint AI mobile app and tap "Delete Account" at the bottom of the screen. The deletion is immediate and does not require waiting for email verification.

This feature is available in the latest version of the Waypoint AI app. If you don't see the "Delete Account" button in Settings, please update to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
